Weather and Storms
Weather and severe-storm clip art for forecasts, safety lessons, instruments, and elementary weather units.
I made this collection for the days when "What's the weather?" needs a more careful answer. It covers a smiling sun, cloud types, rain, snow, sleet, hail, lightning, thunderstorm, tornado, hurricane, wind gusts, bending tree, rainbow, and snowflake. Weather tools include a thermometer, rain gauge, vane, barometer, blank map, and blank television weather screen. A kid meteorologist, umbrella, safety helmet, and flashlight help students connect forecasts with safe choices.
This set belongs in grades 1-5 units on weather patterns, severe weather, measurement, and preparedness. I'd place the instrument images beside a week of class observations and ask students to match each tool to the evidence it records. For a storm-safety review, students could sort the helmet, flashlight, and umbrella into "before" and "during" choices, then explain why. Color art is clear on projected forecast slides and family-facing safety reminders. Blackline art gives students images to label, color, or arrange in a weather report. The emphasis here is reading conditions and staying safe, not tracing water through its full cycle.
