Our Solar System
Solar system clip art for teaching planets, moons, space objects, and elementary astronomy vocabulary.
When I teach the solar system, I like having more than a row of planets to point at. This collection has the smiling Sun, Mercury through Neptune, a full Moon, Moon phases, stars, constellation lines, a comet, asteroid, meteor, and asteroid-belt cluster. You'll also get day and night, Earth's orbit and seasons, a galaxy swirl, rocket, astronaut helmet, kid astronaut, telescope, space telescope, and moon rover.
It fits kindergarten through grade 5 units on space, patterns, observation, and scale. I'd print the planet art as station cards and have partners sort them from the Sun, while the phase row becomes a quick Moon journal prompt. The orbit, day-night, and constellation images help me turn vocabulary into diagrams students can explain. Color files are ready for slides, labels, and a hallway display. Blackline versions give students a quieter option for coloring, cut-and-paste sequencing, or adding their own notes. I can use the same set for an introduction in K-1 and a more structured astronomy review in grades 3-5.
