Habitats and Ecosystems
Habitat and ecosystem clip art for comparing places, food webs, living things, and elementary environmental science.
I made this set as a visual map of where living things meet their needs. It includes rainforest toucan, vines and tree, desert cactus and dunes, clownfish and ocean wave, polar bear and iceberg, great blue heron, cattails, bison and tall grass, deer and pine tree, parrotfish and coral, duck and lily pad, camel, giraffe, Arctic fox, monkey, beaver, habitat-fit arrows, and a kid explorer with a map.
It fits grades 2-5 units on habitats, ecosystems, resources, community relationships, and food webs. I'd place the animals and setting pieces on separate tables and have groups build a habitat, then defend each match with food, water, shelter, or space. The arrows turn that sorting task into a simple systems conversation, while the map gives students a reason to think about location. Color art works for a comparison mural or projected modeling. Blackline art is useful for cut-and-sort pages, labels, and ecosystem notebooks. This set focuses on the place and its community. For a closer look at what an animal does to survive, I'd switch to the adaptations set.
