Frogs and Pond Life
Frog life-cycle and pond-life clip art for metamorphosis, habitat observation, and elementary science activities.
I built this set around a pond students can imagine visiting with a notebook. The frog sequence moves from eggs and tadpole to tadpole with legs, froglet, adult frog, and jumping frog. Around it are a frog on a lily pad, lily-pad flower, water lily, cattails, pond, pond rocks, log, bubbles, dragonfly, turtle, orange fish, duck and duckling, fly, snail, newt, crayfish, and grass.
This works well for grades K-3 units on life cycles, pond habitats, animal needs, and observation. I'd give students a blank pond scene and ask them to place three living things and two nonliving features, then explain how the pieces help a frog grow. The stage images are also easy to turn into a pocket-chart sequence or a partner retell. Color art is cheerful for a science display and read-aloud slides. Blackline versions invite coloring, labeling, and cut-and-paste habitat scenes. I like that the pond neighbors are concrete enough for young learners while the frog stages still support careful scientific vocabulary.
