Animal Adaptations and Survival
Animal adaptation clip art for camouflage, body structures, behaviors, and survival lessons in elementary life science.
I use this set when the question is not "Where does it live?" but "What helps it manage there?" The images show a chameleon, stick insect, hibernating bear, groundhog, caribou herd, Arctic tern, lion, gazelle, porcupine, turtle in a shell, scorpion, owl, bat, elephant fanning its ears, winter-coated Arctic fox, bald eagle, crocodile, dolphin, peacock, mountain goat, emperor penguin, snake, and fennec fox. Adaptation arrows and a kid scientist with a magnifying glass round it out.
It fits grades 3-5 units on structures, behaviors, camouflage, migration, and survival. I'd project two animals, such as the fennec fox and emperor penguin, and have students draw a line from each feature to the problem it helps solve. The arrows make a clean before-and-after explanation without requiring a long paragraph from every child. Color art supports a comparison board and vocabulary slides. Blackline art is useful for annotation, coloring, and evidence-based captions. This set keeps the spotlight on a trait or behavior. Habitat matching belongs in the companion ecosystems collection.
