Amazing Places Around the World
Landmark and landscape clip art for exploring famous places, environments, culture, and responsible travel around the globe.
Geography clicks sooner when students can picture a place. That's what I want from the Grand Canyon layers, Niagara Falls, Amazon rainforest, Sahara dunes, oasis, Mount Everest, prayer flags, coral reef, sea turtle, Great Wall, pyramid, Sphinx, Eiffel Tower, and world landmarks map in this set. The climbers, binoculars, and recycling images invite questions about how people visit places and care for them.
This collection fits grades 2 through 5 in geography, landforms, world cultures, and environmental studies units. For one activity, I'll give groups three landmark cards and ask them to locate each place, describe its environment, and write one respectful visitor action. That turns a picture sort into a map-and-stewardship conversation. I can also use the canyon, falls, desert, rainforest, mountain, and reef as prompts for short descriptive writing. I'd put the color art on a travel board and save the uncluttered blackline images for labeling and map placement.
