Amazing Animals and Life Cycles
Animal and life-cycle clip art spanning insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, and food-chain ideas.
I wanted one set that lets me compare many kinds of animal growth without pretending every life cycle looks the same. It includes butterfly egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, monarch, frog eggs, tadpole, bullfrog, life-cycle arrows, triceratops, tyrannosaurus rex, dinosaur fossil bone, honeybee and beehive, migrating geese, sea turtle and baby, hammerhead shark and tooth, wolf and pup, ant and anthill, a food-chain diagram, bird nest with eggs, and a kid explorer.
This range works for grades 1-5 units on patterns of growth, reproduction, classification, and food chains. I'd give pairs one animal group at a time and ask them to arrange the stages, then compare what changes and what stays recognizable. The mix of eggs, young animals, adults, and nests supports a conversation about care and survival across species. Color images are useful for a comparison wall or read-aloud slides. Blackline versions make sturdy sequencing cards and science-journal pieces. I keep the focus on comparing life cycles broadly, so a butterfly-only lesson can go deeper with the companion butterfly set.
